“Making a difference means making it different.” International Reading Association (March 2000)This programme provides differentiated, enquiry-based, concept-driven, and integrated non-fiction literacy resources.

Seventeen high-interest theme sets each contain four topic books, each written at a different level to cater for individual reading needs.

While the different topic books address the developmental needs of students with varying reading abilities, they simultaneously allow for whole-group discussions and activities as the key concepts and core vocabulary remain the same.

Differentiated learning

  • All students learn the same Key Vocabulary
  • All students can contribute to whole class discussions and activities
  • All students learn and apply the same comprehension strategy
  • All students extend their learning as they contribute to classroom discussions

 

يمثّل برنامج “شمس اللّغة العربيّة” إضافة نوعيّة طالما مسّت حاجة المكتبة العربيّة إليها، من حيث المنهج والموضوع والأسلوب.

يحتوي برنامج “شمس اللّغة العربيّة” على سبع عشرة مجموعة، تضمّ كلّ منها أربعة كتب. ومع أنّ كلّ كتاب في المجموعة يتناول موضوعا مختلفا، إلا أنّ المفاهيم الرئيسيّة نفسها تتكرّر ضمن المجموعة الواحدة، وتتبلور شيئا فشيئا لمساعدة القارئ على استيعاب الفِكَر الكبرى.

ونظرا لتكامليّة المواضيع التي يتناولها البرنامج، فإنّه يساهم في إيجاد بيئة صفيّة تتّبع نهج دمج المواضيع وربط بعضها ببعض، ليتسنّى للباحث النّاشئ تدبّر المفاهيم وتأمّل الفِكَر الرئيسيّة بعمق.

يتيح البرنامج لطلاب الفصل الواحد أن يحقّقوا الأهداف التّاليّة في نفس الوقت:

  • اكتساب نفس المصطلحات الرئيسيّة
  • المساهمة في النّقاش والأنشطة المصاحبة
  • تعلّم استراتيجيّات موحّدة لفهم النّصوص وعرضها وتحليلها
  • فهم عميق للفكر الكبرى

Baraem is the first Arabic television channel for pre-school children offering a wide range of programs specifically tailored for them.

Through joyful, simple and informative content, Baraem educates the young audience
and facilitates their safely interaction with the surrounding world. The Channel
accompanies children through their early formative years of learning and offers rich
content that helps them develop their mental, social and physical skills.
Baraem TV programming is strategically designed to accompany the pre-schoolers
and their mothers during their daily routines. A typical Baraem day begins with an
active tone celebrating the sun rise; the level of mental and physical actions
increases mid-morning to provide children with an energy boost; in the early afternoon,
the young viewers are offered rich and diverse educational content that introduces
them to Arabic letters, numbers, colors, shapes, etc.; the Channel’s rhythm
slows down as bed time approaches in an attempt to help mothers prepare their
youngsters to sleep.
Baraem broadcasts 17 hours daily and is free to view on Arabsat, Nilesat, and
Hotbird reaching all Arab countries and Europe.
Baraem programs along with the interactive website (baraem.tv) are specifically
designed to aid mothers, nurseries and kindergarten teachers by providing them
with an array of innovative child engaging ideas and tools for their everyday activities.
Baraem is funded by Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community
Development and managed by Al Jazeera Children’s Channel.
